The History of Business initiative Directions
Business Initiative Directions (B.I.D) was founded in 1986 by the creator of the first QC100 TQM model as well as the Quality Mix Program, José E. Prieto.
Along with a coalition of international partners, B.I.D. seeks to promote, share and implement Quality Culture in leading companies worldwide.
The QC100 TQM model provides a framework for organisations to implement which will increase efficiency, foster innovation and prioritise customer satisfaction to, in turn, ensure improved results and company growth.
The model’s founding team is made up of leaders from various industries and is continuously adapting the model to suit current best business practice and worldwide developments.
Since its inception almost three decades ago, B.I.D. has been the leading organization worldwide in promoting quality culture in top businesses.
Quality Awards are presented on the basis of principles similar to those of the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers, who present the Deming Award to Japanese based companies; the Baldrige program, which awards U.S. base companies; and the European Federation of Quality Management, who recognise top businesses in the European community.
B.I.D. has had the honor and privilege of awarding businesses from over 178 countries, expanding and dispersing a culture of quality worldwide.
